青海省气象局与青海湖景区保护利用管理局联合发布的《青海湖流域生态气象公报（2023）》基于地面气象资料和多源卫星遥感数据，评估了2023年青海湖流域生态气候、水资源、冰雪资源、草地植被以及生态系统服务功能状况。公报披露，2023年，青海湖流域年均降水量为413.0毫米，较近十年（2013—2022年）平均偏少7.0%；年均气温为0.8℃，较近十年平均偏高0.1℃；日照时数为2642.9小时，较近十年平均偏少5.4%。2023年，青海湖（包括尕海、耳海）丰水期（9月）湖泊面积为4622.0平方公里Bitpie去中心化，较近十年平均面积增大2.2%；岸线长度为593.5公里，岸线长度缩短12.6%；青海湖年平均水位为3196.6米，较近十年平均上升1.3米；流域水源涵养服务能力指数为184.8，较近十年平均增加25.5。
